SC to hear NAB chief�s intra-court appeal today
A five member-bench of the Supreme Court will hear NAB chief�s intra-court appeal today.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – A five-member larger bench of the Supreme Court (SC), headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, will hear the NAB chairman Admiral (R) Fasih Bokhari’s intra-court appeal today.
The Supreme Court had issued a show-cause notice for contempt of court to NAB chairman on writing letter to President Asif Ali Zardari and ruled that he will be indicted for contempt of court on April 2.
The NAB Chairman filed an intra-court appeal pleading to the court to void the decision of indicting him in the case. The NAB chief contended that the contempt notice was given to him under the Contempt of Court Ordinance, 2003, a law that had lapsed and was substituted by Ordinance No, 1 of 2004, which has also expired.
